“Inner Face” is a photographic series of the LGBTQ community in Bangladesh spanning eleven years. The intimate black & white photographs are enticingly lush in the technique that embodies the intensity and warmth. The artist started to make the photographs after a year of research.
The sensibility of approach plays an essential role in his work. Nafis spends days in fluid conversations with the participants in which the participants reflect on their inner thoughts. The images are affecting precisely because of the gaze the artist cast’s on the participants. The working methodology imagines a new narrative and form that eschews documentary photography and has an activistic undertone.
The series consists of 100 photographs.
